Tranquil Wildlife Garden

Concept: An exciting project for a large garden with the establishment of meadow, planting and a pond.

Where: Pately Bridge, North Yorkshire

Size: 250m2

Status: Planting Scheduled Spring 2026

We are hoping to dramatically increase the wildlife and aesthetic value of the site. The client wanted a use for a stone ring they had built in the garden, which filled up in times of heavy rain.

The brief was to make it feel part of the garden rarther than a stand alone feature. This was achieved through pond edge planting inside the circle, and vast areas of loose meadow like planting spilling from the surrounding lawn into the pond.

The addition of hardy upland shrubs such as Hawthron (Crataegus) Flowering Dogwood (Cornus) and Ribes add year round height and beautiful spring blossoms in succession from March to May.
