Suburban Woodland Border
Concept: To re-invent a tired and messy corner of the clients garden into a considered planting scheme, of blues, purples and whites.
Where: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Size: 15m2
Status: Planted June 2025
The visual demonstrates how the scheme will evolve into years 2 and 3+. The space will be filled by the fast growing perennials such as Geranium ‘Rozanne’ Aster divaricatus and Anenome ‘Honerine Jobert’. A light and refined colour scheme helps to light up the shady corner whilst adding a sense of subtle refinement and restraint. The wildlife benefits of the long season planting scheme are enormous, yet it does this without looking untidy.
The scheme a month after planting begins filling out and covering the ground. An organic mulch layer helps with additional nutrients for quick establishment and weed supression in the first year.
